The NOEL project began in November of 2012. In the desire to create an emergency overflow shelter, four churches raised money and volunteers to rehab and operate the shelter for one year.
The Noel Project Emergency Overflow Lodging has three family rooms, a dormitory for single men, a dormitory for single women, showers, lockers, and a kitchen and dining room that provides dinner and breakfast served on site and prepared in our central kitchen at Meadowlark Commons.
The Lodge opens at 6:00 PM and closes at 7:00 AM. By providing lockers, people are able to leave their belongings and not have to carry them with them. During the day, New Beginnings Housing Specialist will meet with the guests for referrals for community resources and housing. At night there is a combination of staff and volunteers.
